תקציר
הכשל המתמשך בשדרוג מעמדה של מערכת החינוך בחברה מודרנית בכלל ושל מעמדו של המורה בפרט מעלים שאלות, לא רק לגבי תקצוב בית הספר, אלא גם לגבי עיצוב דמותם של "המורה הטוב" "הלומד הטוב" ובית הספר הראוי בחברה רווית תקשורת הנתונה בתהליכים מורכבים של גלובליזציה. המאמר סוקר את ממדיה של המציאות התקשורתית, של רשת קשרים ענפה ושל שטף מידע דינאמי, גדל והולך ומשתנה במהירות ומציע הבניה אחרת של דמות המורה ודמות התלמיד במציאות זו ואת דמות ביה"ס כך שיאפשר את ניצול הטכנולוגיה להעצמת האוכלוסייה הבית ספרית. בין השאר, נובע מהדברים צורך עמוק בשדרוג תהליך הכשרת המורים כך שהמורים העתידיים יתאימו למודלים המשורטטים במאמר ולמציאות התקשורתית של ימינו.
אתגר המציאות האחרת
העולם בתוכו מתפקדות מערכות החינוך שינה את פניו למציאות גלובלית, דינמית, שגבולותיה נפרצים על ידי רשתות תקשורת עולמיות ותהליכים כלכליים, חברתיים ותרבותיים חובקי זרועות עולם. כיצד משפיעה ההשתנות הסביבתית על אנשי מערכות החינוך ועל המערכות הללו עצמן? אנו עומדים לנוכח העובדה שאנשי מערכות החינוך - בהכללה גסה כמובן - שבויים עדיין בפרדיגמות קלאסיות שעיצבו את בית הספר במתכונתו המסורתית ומתקשים להשתלב – גם מתוך עמדה ביקורתית - במציאות הדינאמית ורווית התקשורת של ימינו. הם נהיים לאנשי שוליים, כאשר המציאות הטכנולוגית החדשה מעלה את המחשבה שאולי המורים מיותרים כלל ועיקר (Postman, 1990).
מערכות בתי הספר ממשיכות לפעול כמערכות סגורות בלא שמהפכת התקשורת תגיע אליהם ואלו מתנות את פעולתו של המורה. סמלי הדבר, שמעשהו הראשון של המורה בכניסתו לכתה היא סגירת הדלת מאחוריו – הכתה היא מונאדה סגורה ללא חלונות אל העולם. בעת מבחן נדרש התלמיד להיכנס למציאות אוטיסטית - סגור בתוך עצמו ומנותק מסביבתו. חלק גדול משגרת ביה"ס, מאופיין בפער בין המציאות הבית ספרית למציאות התרבותית המסתחררת והמסחררת שמחוצה לו.
עמלם של המורים רב, שוחק ומתסכל, שכרם דל ומעמדם החברתי נמצא בירידה מתמדת. כישלון מערכות המדינה לפתח את בתי הספר ולטפח מורים מקצועיים ומסופקים בעבודתם ידוע. מערכות משרד החינוך בולמות יוזמה ומחשבה יצירתית (הרבה "מפקחים" וכה מעט "מטפחים"). אבל, כל הנסיבות החיצוניות הללו בונות אמת חלקית בלבד. האתגר מוטל גם לפתחם של המורים.
המורים יכולים להצטרף למחנה המסרב לקבל את המציאות החדשה (גלובליזציה, טכנולוגיה, כלכלה עולמית, תקשורת ללא גבולות) ומתעקש לראות בה שורש פורה רוש ולענה. המציאות הזו אכן אחראית להרבה חוליים, ניצול כלכלי על ידי חברות בינלאומיות, זיהום סביבתי, רדידות תרבותית. אולם, בכך לא יתרמו למקומם שלהם במציאות ולא ייקחו חלק משמעותי בהתמודדות עם הבעיות הכרוכות במציאות זו. הם רק ינציחו את מקומם כאנשי שוליים לא רלוונטיים. בשונה, הם יכולים - מעבר למאבקם הצודק להקצאת משאבים נאותה לבתי הספר – לפענח את המציאות התרבותית בה הם פועלים ולבחון מה נגזר ממנה לגבי תפקידם שלהם והדרכים שבהן עליהם למצב את עצמם כאנשי מקצוע בתחום ההוראה (רסניק, 2007).
אחד הממדים הללו – ובוודאי לא היחיד שבהם – הוא המציאות התקשורתית בה אנו חיים כיום. התקשורתיות שינתה את פניהם של מקצועות רבים, כמו שהיא שינתה עבור רובינו את אורחות החיים הפרטיים שלנו – יתכן, שהתבוננות במציאות הגלובלית כחברה רווית טכנולוגיה ותקשורת יכולה לספק דרך להבניה אחרת, רלוונטית, של דמות המורה הטוב", "התלמיד הטוב" ו-"בית הספר הראוי".
אתגר התקשורת הגלובלית
ניתן להבחין במהפכת התקשורת והמידע, שבצילה מדשדשת מערכת החינוך, שני ממדי-על: תקשורתיות חסרת התקדים, חובקת זרועות עולם, בין מאות מיליונים של בני אדם, ונגישות למידע אינסופי, מהיר, רחב היקף וכאוטי באופיו.
שני הממדים הללו נגזרים מתקשורתיות גמישה, חובקת עולם, שיוצרת מצב בו ממדי הזמן והמרחב של המציאות הפיזית נהיים לגמישים וניתנים לעיצוב בידי האדם האינטרנטי. לכאורה התבטל המרחק. ככל שהטכנולוגיה זמינה יותר, ממוזערת יותר, ניתנת להפעלה בכל אתר ואתר, הולך ונעלם המרכיב המקומי של העשייה התרבותית והכלכלית (Cairncross, 1997). אנו כבר מודעים למציאות ההולכת ומתרחבת שבה סוכנות מקצועית כלשהי הממוקמת ביבשת אחת, מקבלת תמיכה משרדית או שירות ללקוחותיה מאנשי שירות השוכנים ביבשת או תת-יבשת אחרת. רופא יכול לתת טיפול רפואי, אפילו ניתוחי, לחולה המאושפז אלפי קילומטרים ממנו, והכול ב"זמן אמת" (real time). מידע חדשותי עדכני זורם למחשבינו בכל רגע נתון במשרעת גלובלית, וקניינות אינטרנטית אף היא פרצה את הגבולות הלוקליים – כולנו מוזמנים לרכוש מוצרי צריכה מצדו האחר של הגלובוס בכמה הקשות עכבר. העולם נהיה "קטן" ונגיש.
התקשורתיות החדשה מתבטאת בכך שבלחיצה קלה על עכבר או "שלט" ניתן ליצור – ברמת המאקרו האינטרנטית - תקשורת מידית עם בני אדם בכל פינה בתבל. ברמת המיקרו, יכולים, באם יחפצו בכך, המורים והתלמידים להיות מקושרים ביניהם בכל הרכב אפשרי. כל מורה, כל מנהל, כל תלמיד, כל הורה – יכולים להיות בעלי נוכחות אישית ברשתות התקשורת, בכל עת ובכל מקום.
הנגישות של כל אדם לכל אדם מזמנת אמנם איומים, מקרים של ניצול והונאה, אלימות, פדופיליה ופשעי שנאה, אולם היא גם אוצר של הזדמנויות למפגש עם אנשים או לניהול תקשורת מגוונת ברשת של קשרים חברתיים ומקצועיים, בני משפחה, חברים, קולגות לעבודה, לקוחות, בעלי מקצוע נדרשים וכל אחד אחר שיש לנו עניין או צורך בקשר עמו. קהילות הידע למיניהן נהיו בעידן האינטרנטי לקהילות חובקות עולם, שיכולות להכיל שותפים מארצות שונות שמבקשים לקיים שיח מקצועי הממוקד בנושא משותף.
מעצם מהותה מטפחת התקשורתיות הבינאישית הזו מפגש של סובייקטים, של אישים (Persona-s). עולם-המדע, הטכנולוגיה והתעשייה שהתעצב באירופה של המאות השמונה עשרה עד המאה העשרים היה עולם של אובייקטים. בדמיונו של האדם המודרני ובמחשבתו המדעית העולם הוא "מחסן ענק" של חפצים לצריכה, לשימוש, למחקר. אנו יוצרים אובייקטים וצורכים אובייקטים. 'העולם לכשעצמו' אינו נגיש לשכלו של האדם: הכל אובייקטים (קאנט). לעומת זאת, המציאות התקשורתית האינטנסיבית מנכיחה דווקא סובייקטים, אישים דוברים, מביעי רגשות, דמיונות, מחשבות ועמדות במגוון רחב של תחומי חיים. הממד השני, המהפכני, העומד ביסוד המציאות של ימינו הוא הנגישות למידע גולמי ולידע מדעי ותרבותי בהיקפים חסרי תקדים. כל אדם המחובר לרשת התקשורת יכול להגיע לידע שימושי וטכני, לספרות מדעית ואמנותית, למידע חדשותי ותרבותי, כלכלי ופוליטי בהיקף כמעט בלתי מוגבל. החידושים הטכנולוגיים התכופים – מחשבים חזקים יותר, פס שידור רחב יותר, טלוויזיה רבת ערוצים, מזעור מכשירי הקלט – כל אלו מעצימים את קצב זרימת המידע , הרבה מעבר ליכולת העיבוד של "האדם הרגיל".
זרימת המידע בעולם האינטרנטי הינה זרימה רב-כיוונית. למידע אין מקור אחד, ובמקרים רבים והולכים אין מקור בעל סמכות אחד. מטשטשת ההבחנה בין ברי סמכה לעמך ובין צרכני ידע ליוצרי ידע. שאלת האיכות של המידע השופע נהיית לשאלה קריטית.
המידע השופע, זמין ובכמות עצומה, אבל הוא בלתי מאורגן ולא ממוין לפי קריטריונים של איכות מעצם מהותה הפתוחה של המציאות האינטרנטית. האינטרנט והתקשורת רבת הערוצים יוצרים מציאות כאוטית הדורשת מיומנות גבוהה בכל הקשור בהגעה למידע נדרש וביקורת שלו, הפרדה בין עיקר וטפל, הבחנה בין מידע כוזב למידע אמין ובר-תוקף, מיון ועיבוד המידע והפיכתו לידע משמעותי ורלוונטי, הצגתו ולעתים שימוש בידע לצרכי האדם והחברה.
הידע דינאמי, משתנה ומתחדש במהירות שקשה למורה המצוי ותלמידיו לעקוב אחריו. נכסי צאן ברזל של הידע האנושי "אתמול" נהיו למיושנים ביום שלמחרת. ההשתנות המהירה מחייבת התעדכנות בלתי פוסקת. פחות ופחות אנשים יודעים את "הכל" בתחום עיסוקם. היודע "הכל" כעת לא יהיה יודע "הכל" למחרת היום. המשימה של השגת מידע מבוקש כלשהו, הרלוונטי לנושא מסוים, נהייתה ממשימה חד-פעמית לתהליך סיזיפי בלתי פוסק של למידה, התחדשות ועדכון וריענון של ידע קיים, שאתמול היה חדשני והיום מעמדו מתערער.
הידע מופיע במגוון רחב של מדיומים ובאמצעות כלים עתירי טכנולוגיה. צרכן הידע יכול להשיג אותו בדיבור, בתמונות בדידות וב-ווידאו, במוסיקה ובמיצג אמנותי וכמובן בכמות הולכת וגוברת של טקסט שמאורגן בצורה ליניארית או בצורה היפר-טקסטואלית רבת ממדים.
הטכנולוגיה נהיית לזמינה והמחשב (שם כולל למכלול שלם של פיתוחים טכנולוגיים) מאפשר לכל אדם בעל אוריינות טכנולוגית להיות אמן יוצר, מתעד היסטורי, כותב טקסטים וקולנוען חובב. בידי אוריין הטכנולוגיה ניתנו כלים חזקים להבעה עצמית שבעבר היו בידי מומחים ו-"בעלי מקצוע" נבחרים בלבד.
מטשטשת ההבחנה בין יוצרי ידע לצרכני ידע. הפיתוח הטכנולוגי מביא לכך שהשותפים לפעילות המקוונת - מורים וסטודנטים לצורך העניין שלנו - יכולים להיות לא רק צרכני ידע אלא גם מעבדי ידע, פרשני ידע ויוצרי ידע. ככל שהמחשבים שבידי הציבור חזקים יותר והתקשורת מהירה יותר כך קל ונוח יותר להנגיש טקסט לאחרים, לעבד טקסט ולשוב ולהציגו ולהיות חלק מתהליכי יצירת-ידע שיתופיים. ככל שהמכשירים נהיים זעירים יותר והתקשורת האינטרנטית נהיית ל"רחבת פס" יותר כך מתרחשים תהליכי יצירת הידע ביותר ויותר מרחבים ומיקומים מגוונים. בכל מקום בו ישנה תקשורת אינטרנטית יכול איש האינטרנט להוציא מכיסו מכשיר זעיר ולהעלות לרשת מידע בקלות, במהירות ובתפוצה גלובלית.
הדמוקרטיזציה של ייצור הידע האנושי מעמידה בפני מערכות הדעת וההשכלה במלוא חומרתה את שאלת איכות הידע הנוצר במערכת. באם כולם כותבים, כולם בעלי דעה פוליטית, כולם פרשני תרבות ובעלי הגות אזי עלול עולם הידע לאבד את פרספקטיבות האיכות שלו. כשאין אין יותר אריסטוקרטיות של ידע אין יותר ידע איכותי, מעמיק, ואין יותר תכני תרבות שזוכים לקלאסיות ולעמידות לאורך שנים רבות. אנדריו קין כתב על כך מאמר בלוג שזכה להדים רבים ובו טען שחזון הווב 2.0 הנו "הסיוט של סוקרטס" באשר הוא נותן בידי כל אזרח את הכלים להיות בעל דעה, אמן או כותב טקסטים (Keen, 2006). בפני מבקרי תרבות הווב 2.0 עומדת השאלה של איכות הידע האנושי המתהווה במציאות זו, שמא יש כאן גרסה אינטרנטית עדכנית של "מרד ההמונים" שדיבר עליו חוזה אורטגה אי גאסט בספרו בשם זה (אורטגה אי גאסט, 1975).
הנגישות הגלובלית, השיתופיות והאינטראקטיביות מחדדים שאלות של זהות, תרבות ורב-תרבותיות, שפה, קודים חברתיים, ונוהלי עבודה. הטלוויזיה רבת הערוצים והאינטרנט מביאות את תרבויות העולם אלינו הביתה, ואם נרצה בכך יכולים ייצוגי תרבות אלו להגיע למרחב בית הספר. המידע הנו מידע גלובלי.
הנגישות לידע אנושי בכל קצווי העולם יוצרת מפגש עם תכני תרבות מהקשרים חברתיים אחרים לגמרי ומחדדים שאלות של שיח רב-תרבותי, הבנה של תרבויות אחרות וקבלת פרספקטיבה מורכבת יותר על ‘טענות האמת’ של כל תרבות ותרבות. עולות גם בעיות של ‘מגדל בבל’ - אי הבנה הדדית הנובעת מהשוני התרבותי שבין החברות הלוקאליות. ככל שהשיתופיות רחבה יותר וחוצה גבולות מתחדדת שאלת השפה בה אנו מתקשרים. זו נוגעת בממשקי תרבות אחרים כגון קצבי עבודה וזמני עבודה, היררכיה של יצירת ידע ושימוש בו וחופש מידע (שהיחס אליו עוין במשטרים אוטוקראטיים).
הנגישות לידע והשיתופיות בתהליכי יצירת הידע משנים את ההיררכיות המקובלות בתהליכי יצירת הידע והבעלות עליו ושוברים מודלים של סמכות חברתית ופוליטית. פרויקט הויקיפדיה העולמי הנו אחד הניסיונות המוצהרים הבולטים ליצור מאגר ידע אנציקלופדי "שטוח" ללא היררכיה של פרופסורים. לשיטוח פירמידת הידע ישנה משמעות לגבי כוחם של משטרים לעצב דעת קהל ולשלוט בציבור שנהיה לצרכן ידע רב-ערוצי.
שאלות של זהות ואנונימיות מתחזקות לאור האפשרות – המאוד פופולארית – לפעול באינטרנט במעטה של אנונימיות או בזהות בדויה. המסכה הדיגיטאלית נותנת מרחב של פעילות מסקרנת ומפתה אבל גם מאפשרת ניצול לרעה של הפעילות התקשורתית, ניבול פה, נאצה, הפצת דברי שנאה ואף פעילות עוינת ואלימה. הטרור העולמי משתמש באינטנסיביות ברשתות האינטרנט כדי לקדם את מפעלו הרצחני והכל בחסות של אנונימיות רשתית.
ממדי זמן ומרחב נהיים גמישים וניתנים לעיצוב בידי המשתתפים – נפרצו גבולותיו של הכפר הקטן. ככל שהטכנולוגיה זמינה יותר, ממוזערת יותר, ניתנת להפעלה בכל אתר ואתר, הולך ונעלם הממד הלוקאלי של העשייה התרבותית והכלכלית שלנו. (Caircross, The Death of Distance, 1997)
כיצד מתמודדת מערכת החינוך עם המציאות החדשה הזו? בשנים האחרונות נדונו בישראל כמו גם בארצות אחרות הכישלונות רבים בהטמעתן של מערכות תקשורת לתוך תהליכי ההוראה-למידה בבתי הספר. ההנחה שעצם הכנסת המחשבים, או כל ציוד נלווה אחר, תשנה את פני בית הספר ואת דרכי ההוראה בתוכו התגלתה כמחשבה שגויה – קל לרכוש ציוד, אבל קשה להוביל שינוי תרבותי מערכתי. הכנסת הטכנולוגיה לא לוותה בשינוי של תרבות ביה"ס, הגדרת תפקידו של המורה ודרכי עבודתו, ולכן לא חל שינוי פדגוגי משמעותי שהצדיק את הטרחה הרבה והשקעה הגדולה בציוד (סלומון, 2006). תלמידים ומורים, שבביתם עושים שימוש אינטנסיבי במחשבים ובתקשורת מחשבים וטלוויזיה בכל תחומי חייהם, עושים שימוש דל במערכות מקוונות בבית הספר (בין כל המורים של בנותיי בבי"ס תיכון, מודל 2007-2008, אין ולו אחד/אחת המקיימ/ת עמן תקשורת אינטרנט מתמשכת בענייני הוראה-למידה. בתי ספר רבים שביקשו לקדם עבודה הוראתית מקוונת פנו למיקור חיצוני שלה, e-teacher לדוגמה). בתי הספר זכו להצטייד במחשבים ובקווי תקשורת והאוכלוסייה שבהן נהייתה יותר ויותר אוריינית מחשבים ואינטרנט (כתוצאה מהשימוש החוץ בית ספרי בהם) ואילו מבנה ביה"ס, הדינאמיקה בכיתת הלימוד, עבודת המורה והתנהלות התלמיד שינו רק במעט את פניהם.
אין בדברים אלו טענת 'חסיד שוטה' - ההתייחסות על מהפכת התקשורת והמידע רוויה בספק לגבי משמעותה. שכלול מערכות התקשורת לא קרב את גאולת החברה האנושית. בורות ורדידות תרבותית נותרו בעינן. שאלות של מוסר ושל סולידאריות אנושית ממשיכות להעסיק אותנו כפי שהיו לפני מאות שנים (Postman, 1990). המחשב, תקשורת המחשבים, הטלוויזיה – כולם הגבירו את שטף המידע, אולם הותירו את בני האדם עם האחריות הגורלית לניהול עולמם. יאמר בצדק שתקשורת משמעה קודם כל שיח בינאישי לא מקוון. ויחד עם זאת, הפער בין השימוש העמוק, רחב ההיקף, המשמעותי, שעושה הציבור בתקשורת בכלל ותקשורת אינטרנט בפרט במגוון רחב מאד של תחומי חיים ובין השימוש הדל במערכות תקשורת בביה"ס אומר דרשני.
המורה במציאות תרבותית גלובלית
היכן אמור להיות המורה ביחס למציאות תרבותית חדשה זו? בחברה המסורתית האמת מצויה הייתה בעבר והמורה היה חוליה בשלשלת המסירה של ידע זה. הזקן ידע יותר מהצעיר וזכה לכבוד והערכה על מקומו בהיררכיה של הידע. בהוראה המסורתית המורה היה סוכן הידע, מתווך הידע בין דורות קודמים לדור הבא. "עשה לך רב" - מצווה היה האדם היהודי; בחר לך מורה ושאב דרכו את האמת שמקורה בעבר הרחוק.
החברה המודרנית, מעצם הגדרת המודרניות, נדרשת פחות ופחות להיררכית הידע המסורתית. הידע הרלוונטי הנו הידע החדש ולא הישן. הידע נהיה לעוד "אופנה" שמוחלפת במהירות על ידי האופנה שבאה אחריה. הוראת המדעים – היהלום בכתר של תהליכי ההשכלה של העת החדשה - חפשה את האמת על המציאות לא במסורת עבר אלא במחקר מדעי, עדכני ככל שניתן. על המורה הוטל להעביר את הידע המדעי או את "חומר הלימוד" מראשו המדופלם לראשו של התלמיד, שנתפס ככלי קיבול ריק שיש להטעינו במשאבי ידע ותרבות איכותיים (הרפז, 2000).
הוראת המדעים הקלאסית, ההירארכית, נהייתה אף היא לבעייתית כאשר במציאות התקשורתית של ימינו, בעידן התקשורת הגלובלית, מערכת הידע בה אנו חיים נהיית בתחומים רבים לשטוחה, כשצעירים הם בעלי ידע לא פחות מזה של המבוגרים מהם. הצעירים חשופים לעולם תקשורתי, למאות ערוצי טלוויזיה ורדיו, עיתונים ומגזינים, לאינסוף אתרי אינטרנט. הם נוסעים הרבה יותר מהוריהם ורואים יותר ושומעים יותר. מציאות זו בהכרח משפיעה על צורכי הלימוד שלהם ועל הרגלי הלימוד שלהם.
תהליכי ההוראה-למידה התמקדו יותר ויותר בלומד ובתהליכי למידה אקטיביים ולא במלמד. המורה, כפי שהדבר נוסח בתיאוריות קונסטרוקטיביסטיות שהתפתחו מרעיונותיו של פיאז'ה (1948) וזכו לפופולאריות רבה בעשורים האחרונים (ברוקס וברוקס 1997, הרפז 2000, ויגוצקי 2004, סלומון 2000, סלומון ופרקינס 1996, פרקינס 1997, 1999, ,Glasersfeld 2000, Hativa 1999, Murphy 2003, Pass 2004 ורבים רבים אחרים), הגדרתו המקצועית משתנה והוא מוותר על מעמדו כמקור הידע האולטימטיבי ומקבל עליו תפקידים חדשים של מעצב, מתווך, מסייע, תומך, ומעריך. המורה שוב אינו יכול ואינו צריך להיות מקור הידע הבלבדי בתהליכי הלמידה והוא אינו הגורם האקטיבי היחיד בתהליכי ההוראה-למידה. אולם ציפייה זו למיצוב חדש של דמות המורה נתקלת בדמותו של המורה "המודרני", שכבר אינו "מודרני" ושאינו יכול, כי מעולם לא הוכשר לכך, להתמודד עם המציאות התקשורתית החדשה והוא מסתייג מהכנסתה לביה"ס.
כדי לחבר את המורה אל אתגר הגלובליזציה ומהפכת התקשורת עלינו לשרטט דמות אחרת של מורה, דמות "המורה הטוב", ההולם את מציאות החיים בעת הזו:
- המורה כמנחה וכמוביל תהליכים חברתיים: בהנחה שהלמידה היא – לפי מיטב המחשבה הקונסטרוקטיביסטית - תהליך חברתי במהותו (ויגוצקי 2004), "המורה הטוב" הנו דמות בעלת יכולות תקשורתיות-דיאלוגיות ומומחיות בהובלת שיח חברתי והבניה של הלימוד כתהליך חברתי, קהילתי. הכתה היא קהילת לומדים והמורה הוא סוג של מנהיג חברתי ומוביך תהליכי למידה בינאישיים.
התדמית המנוכרת של העולם הטכנולוגי מחמיצה את הפוטנציאל להעשרת התקשורת שיש בו בין התלמידים לבין עצמם, בינם לבין המורים שלהם ובינם לבין קבוצות לומדים שכנות, מרכזי-ידע ואנשי מקצוע אחרים. דווקא בעולם מעין זה - בו נהייתה התקשורת הדיגיטלית לחלק מנשמת אפם של בני זמננו - התקשורתיות היא תכונה חיונית לדמותו של המורה. המורה צריך להיות דמות שיודעת להקשיב - גם קריאת תכתובת של האחר היא סוג של הקשבה - ולדובב את הזולת, להביע עמדות ורגשות ולטפח הדברות ותקשורתיות אצל הלומדים.
- המורה הנו בעל יכולת לסייע בשאילת שאלות, ובמיוחד שאלות מורכבות הרלוונטיות למציאות פתוחה – הפרדיגמה הרלוונטית למורה היא זו של "המיילד" הסוקראטי, המסייע לזולת להוציא מתוכו מחשבות חדשות. איתור גבולות הידע והגדרת אי הידיעה, שהיא ראשיתה הפורה של כל למידה משמעותית, נהיים למשימתו החיונית של המורה.
- המורה נהיה למומחה בעיצוב וניהול של תהליכי למידה וחקר. יתרונו המקצועי אינו בידע העודף האצור בראשו – רוב הידע ממילה זמין ממקורות אחרים – אלא בניסיון העודף שיש לו בפתרון בעיות ידע מורכבות ובכוריאוגרפיה של תהליכי למידה. הוא כבר חווה "הפלגות בים הסוער" של אי ידיעה בחייו וידע לנווט את תהליך החקר "לחוף מבטחים". המורה צריך להכיר מחקר מהו ולדעת להתאים כלי מחקר לשאלה נידונה ולהפעיל אותם בהתאם לכללי חשיבה מדעיים.
- המורה מכיר היטב את "המרחב הדיסציפלינארי" וככזה הנו בעל היכולת להגיע אל "קצה חוט" בחיפוש אחר ידע רלוונטי באוקיאנוס של מידע לא רלוונטי, אבל הוא אינו בהכרח מומחה בכל תחום ובכל רזולוציה של עיון. המורה איננו ה"יודע כל" (תכונת האלוהים בתיאולוגיה של ימי הביניים), אבל הוא יודע משהו כדי למפות את הבעיה. כרופא משפחה, שאינו מומחה לשום תחום רפואי, אלא לאיתור, מיפוי והכוונה של הבעיה.
- המורה יודע לעבד ידע ולפרש ידע - הוא בעל היכולת להציע דרכים לעיבוד מידע לכלל ידע רלוונטי והא בעל כישורי הובלה של תהליכי חשיבה, עיון, פרשנות והערכה של ידע. כאדם בעל הבנה תרבותית והכרות עם תהליכים פרשניים המורה יודע לפרש ידע בפריזמה התרבותית שבה הוא נוצר או נצרך.
- המורה כפרפורמר של ידע: הוא יודע לעצב ידע, להציג ידע ולהנגיש ידע לאחרים - ככזה הוא יכול לסייע ללומדים בהצגת הידע שברשותם או בשימוש בו במסגרת "שימושי ידע".
- לצד המחקר, חשוב להעמיד גם את "המורה כיוצר", כמי שיכול ליצור יש מאין, לחדש, לתת פרשנות ייחודית, להביע רגש, לעבד דמיון לכלל תהליך יוצר, להעמיד לבחינה רעיון מקורי. העולם המודרני, מכיר בממד של אי הוודאות שבו ומקנה חשיבות עצומה לתהליכים של יצירה וביטוי אוטנטי של האדם. בהכשרת המורים חייבת היצירה לקבל מקום של כבוד בלא שתועמד כמשנית לחשיבה המחקרית-מדעית.
- בסביבה עתירת טכנולוגיה שמשתנה כל העת ובמהירות מסחררת המורה הנו בעל ניסיון בשימוש בכלים טכנולוגיים מורכבים, בעל יכולת ללמוד את תפעולם של כלים חדשים תדיר ויכולת לאתר ולארגן תמיכה טכנית חיונית היכן שהוא מתקשה להסתדר בכוחות עצמו. הוא איננו בהכרח המומחה לטכנולוגיה שבשימוש, אבל הוא אוריין טכנולוגיה, שיודע לאתר את מומחיות הנדרשת לו אצל אחרים.
- המציאות הגלובלית מחייבת יצירת ידע באופן שיתופי ולכן "המורה הטוב" הוא גם חבר פעיל בקהילת ידע מקצועי, מקומית או מקוונת, העושה את הלמידה הפעילה למרכיב קבע של חייו המקצועיים. במקום המורה ש-"סוגר אחריו את דלת הכתה" נדרש מורה שפותח את עבודתו למשוב עמיתים, לביקורת של תלמידים, לתהליכי הדרכה וחניכה מתמשכים (להבדיל אלפי הבדלות מתהליכי הפיקוח של ימינו) ולהיעזרות במשאבי ידע מקצועי מחוץ לביה"ס. כשם שרופא או מהנדס בן זמננו אינו יכול להסתפק בשנות לימודיו האוניברסיטאיות והוא נדרש כל העת לידע מקצועי עדכני גלובלי כך גם המורה חייב להיות חלק מקהילת ידע עדכנית גלובלית. (Sergiovanni, 1996, xvii Fullan 1994, 2001;)
- המורה כאיש מקצוע שאינו שוקט על שמריו - הציפייה ללימוד כפעילות לחיים (Life Long Learningh) ידועה, אולם במציאות הפתוחה בה הידע משתנה כל עת, מורה שאינו לומד-תמיד, כמו במקצועות אחרים שכולנו נזקקים להם, נותר מאחור.
- המורה כמבקר תרבות: מעבר לכל הכישורים הללו ודווקא בגלל סכנת האליליזציה של העולם הטכנו-תקשורתי נדרש המורה לכישורים של חשיבה ביקורתית, מודעות עצמית ויכולת לקיים שיח ערכי-מוסרי. דווקא המציאות הפתוחה והדינאמית המזמנת קצב מסחרר של השתנות ושיטפון של מידע מעלה את הצורך באישיות גמישה, ערנית, מעורבת וערכית. שאלת דמותה של החברה האנושית - שיכולה להיות מנוסחת במונחים הומניסטיים ולא טבעיים או מכאניים – חייבת להעסיק את המורה.
בהתאם, התביעה הרווחת מהמורה להיות ניטראלי מבחינה חברתית-פוליטית היא תביעה להתאבדות חינוכית. בעולם מורכב ודינאמי מיסודו המורה חייב להיות מסוגל להוביל שיח ערכי שיש בו גם פתיחות לשונות תרבותית והקשבה לזולת וגם נקיטת עמדה ערכית בשאלות המעסיקות את החברה בה הוא חי.
כל ההיבטים הללו, שהיינו רוצים לראותם בדמותו של "המורה הטוב" נובעים מהבנת המציאות בתוכה אנו פועלים והכרת המנופים שהיא מעניקה למורים להיות שותפים בעיצובה של החברה בזמננו (Sergiovanni, 2001). המורה שרוצה להשפיע על המציאות החברתית – ומניי וביי גם לשנות את מעמדו החברתי והכלכלי של המורה - חייב למצב עצמו בהתאם לפרמטרים הללו של נוכחות אישית משמעותית, קהילתיות, יכולת לנווט תהליכי למידה, אוריינות טכנולוגית ותרבותית, השתנות מתמדת, חירות פעולה ואחריות. המורה שוב אינו "מעביר הידע". לצד הפרדיגמה המדוברת של "המורה כחוקר", יש להציב את התבניות של "המורה כמנחה חברתי" ומוביל תהליכים בין אישיים, "המורה כאיש תקשורת", "המורה כמיילד", "המורה כמוביל תהליכי למידה קונסטרוקטיביסטיים", "המורה כיוצר" ו-"המורה כפרשן תרבות".
קביעות מעין אלו מחייבות גם התאמה של פרופיל המועמדים להוראה, שמושפע בוודאי גם מהפרספקטיבה לשכר עתידי, ושינוי מעמיק של דרכי הכשרת המורים, כך שהמורים יוכלו להיענות לתבניות החדשות הללו.
התלמיד במציאות גלובלית
המציאות, שתוארה בקווים סכמאטיים דלעיל, מביאה בהכרח בכנפיה גם דמות חדשה של "הלומד הטוב", אותו תלמיד שיש סיכוי טוב שיצליח טוב יותר לתפקד, להיות אפקטיבי ומשמעותי, במציאות זו.
המשנה (שנת 200 לספה"נ בערך) במסכת "אבות" (פרק ב) מתארת שני טיפוסים של תלמידים. האחד הנו רבי אליעזר בן הורקנוס, ה-"בור סוד". השני הנו אלעזר בן ערך, "המעיין המתגבר". "בור סוד" הוא כמובן מאגר המים שאין לו משלו, כל מימיו באו לו מקליטה מבחוץ – אין לו ידע שהוא יצר בעצמו – והוא אינו מאבד טיפה. ברמת הנמשל הכוונה היא כמובן ללומד שלא שוכח דבר מתלמודו. כל מה שקיבל ממורו נותר חקוק בזיכרונו ומועבר באופן נאמן לדור הלומדים הבא. לעומתו "המעיין המגבר" הנו הלומד שיש בו נביעה פנימית, התחדשות מבפנים והוא מחדש ויוצר, אולם אינו מתאים להעברה נאמנה של מסורת.
הטקסט מהלל את שני האישים ומביא את ההתלבטות "מי גדול ממי"; אין זו רק בחירה בין שני אישים בולטים אלא בחירה בין שני מודלים של למידה ושל העברת מסורת וחיברות. מרתק לגלות שבסופו של דיון זכה ה-"מעיין המתגבר" לתמיכת מיעוט המתדיינים ואילו הרוב ראה דווקא באליעזר בן הורקנוס את המודל המוביל לדורות. החברה המסורתית בחרה ב-"בור-סוד" בתור מודל ההוראה-למידה המתאים עבורה. אלעזר בן ערך, "המעיין המתגבר", תורתו נשתכחה (שנר, טורא ג, 1994; ארץ אחרת 13, 2002). למה בחרה החברה התלמודית ברבי אליעזר כדמות מופת שלה? כי לכל חברה, בהתאם לתפיסת עצמה ולמודלים התרבותיים השוררים בה, מתאימה דמות מסוימת של תלמיד. חברה מסורתית שמדגישה את המחויבות למקורות עברו מעלה על נס את "הבור סוד" שביכולתו להעביר בנאמנות גבוהה עם מסורת העבר לדורות הבאים. "המעיין המתגבר", הטיפוס היצירתי והמקורי, דווקא מאיים על ההעברה הבין-דורית ומאתגר את סמכותם של מורים ומורי מורים. לעומת זאת, מציאות משתנה במהירות המכילה מערכות תרבות שונות מצריכה במידה מכרעת את "המעיין המתגבר" ומצמצמת מאד את מקומו של "הבור סוד" כמודל חינוכי.
המעין המתגבר בימינו אינו רק יעד ערכי-תרבותי. התיאוריות הפדגוגיות הקונסטרוקטיביסטיות שתוארו דלעייל קובעות העדפה ברורה ללומד האקטיבי המפעיל במחשבתו תהליכים של הבניית ידע. אמנם למידה מבוססת בהכרח על ידע קודם של הלומד, אולם היא מותנית גם בכך שהלומד יקיים תהליך פעיל של עיבוד ידע וקישור שלו אל הידע הקודם ואל הקשרי חיים הנותנים לו את משמעותם.
בהתאם לגישה זו אנו יכולים לשרטט את מאפייניו של "הלומד הטוב", "המעיין המתגבר", בחברה בעידן התקשורת והמידע:
- הלומד הטוב הנו זה שיודע לתפעל תקשורת משמעותית עם סביבתו, להביע דעה, לשתף במחשבות, לפנות אל האחר ולהיענות לפניותיהם של אחרים אליו. במינוח של גרדנר (גרדנר, 1983) נוכל לדבר, לצד "האינטליגנציה החברתית" או האינטליגנציה "בין אישית", גם על "אינטליגנציה תקשורתית". הלומד הטוב הנו "טיפוס תקשורתי", החש בעולם המתוקשר והמתוקשב כבביתו, שלומד לדבר ולהידבר. כישורי הלשון, ההבנה התרבותית ויכולת ההעברה של מסרים נהיים לכלים בסיסיים של האדם.
- בעולם של תקשורת אינטנסיבית ושל האינדיבידואציה של התרבות הנוכחות העצמית של האדם –הלומד בכלל זה - היא בעלת משמעות גוברת. הלומד הטוב הנוכח באופן אפקטיבי בתהליך הוא אדם פעיל, מחובר לרגשותיו ומחשבותיו, מודע למציאות הסובייקטיבית של קיומו, בהתאם ל-"אינטליגנציה התוך אישית" של גרדנר, ומתייחס ברגישות לסובייקטיביות של זולתו.
- המודעות העצמית הנה גם המודעות להקשר התרבותי של האדם, שפתו, אמונותיו ומנהגיו וכל הכרוך במושג המעורפל "תרבות". במציאות גלובלית הרב-תרבותיות היא חלק מההוויה אותה חי הלומד ועליו להבין את ההקשר ממנו הוא בא ואת ההקשר התרבותי ממנו באים בני שיחו.
- הלומד הטוב הנו האישיות האוטונומית המצוידת בכלי ניווט פנימיים. הכלים הם כלים רגשיים ואינטלקטואלים כאחד. במינוח של מקנזי, Free Grazing Children" ", השאול מעולם החקלאות של "תרנגולות החופש", אנו שואפים לטפח את "ילדי החופש" של העולם הפתוח. הלומד המתאים למציאות גלובלית הנו הלומד שאינו נבהל ממציאות פתוחה ויודע לנווט בתוכה באופן עצמאי כאיש דעת (McKenzie 1998).
בטקסט המשנאי הנ"ל נותן המורה, רבן יוחנן בן זכאי, לחמשת תלמידיו הבכירים, כתה של אליטה מובהקת, משימת לימוד בנוסח "צא וראה" (מהי הדרך הטובה שילך בה האדם). התלמיד הטוב אמור היה לדעת אז (בישיבה התלמודית המאוחרת יותר כבר לא נדרש כישור זה), וכך זה שוב היום, שכדי ללמוד על החיים יש לצאת אל העולם.
- הלומד הטוב הנו הלומד בעל המוכוונות העצמית והיכולת להתמודד עם אי הידיעה. בעולם מורכב ופתוח שבו 'האדם היודע' מודע יותר ויותר לאי-הידיעה שלו, היכולת להגדיר את אי הידיעה ולנסח אותה בשאלה, שתתחיל תהליך לימודי מורכב, נהיית לכישור חיוני. בהתאם הלומד הטוב הוא הלומד שרוכש מיומנויות של ניסוח שאלות "פוריות" (הרפז, 2000), שיכולות להוביל ללימוד משמעותי ולמחקר אפקטיבי.
- הלומד במרחב הפתוח יודע להבנות תהליך מחקרי: לנסח שאלת מחקר, לבנות ממנה "סולם מחקרי" של שאלות משנה ולעשות שימוש בכלי המחקר הנאותים כדי להוביל את התהליך הלימודי לתכלית כלשהי.
- הלומד הטוב הוא האדם המיומן בכלים ובטכניקות לאיתור מידע רלוונטי "במחסן הגלובאלי". הלומד שיודע לאתר מידע בעולם פתוח, לארגן מידע, לעבד אותו ולהציג אותו בצורה מאירת עיניים.
- הלומד הטוב הנו מי שיודע ל"הקשיב" היטב, ו- לקרוא "היטב" ובצורה בוחנת וביקורתית טקסט או לפענח "טקסט" לא מילולי.
- הלומד הטוב הוא גם מי שיודע להביע את עצמו באופן עשיר ומובן. אנדריו פינברג, פילוסוף של העולם האינטרנטי, דיבר על משמעותו של "העולם הכתוב" (2000Feenberg, ). בניגוד לתדמית התמונתית של העולם האינטרנטי מסתבר שהפעילות הענפה ביותר המתקיימת בו היא פעילות של כתיבה וקריאה. בעולם הכתוב, הלומד הטוב הנו מי שיודע לפענח טקסטים שסביבו, גם טקסטים לא מילוליים, להבין את הקשרם התרבותי והחברתי, להבחין בתבניות תרבותיות ולשוניות שבהם ולראות מה עומד מאחריהן או בין השיטין שלהם.
במציאות הנבנית על תקשורתיות אינטנסיבית, האדם האפקטיבי הוא מי שכישורי ההבעה שלו עשירים וחדי ביטוי; הלומד הטוב בעולם הכתוב חייב להציג אוריינות ברמה גבוהה ויכולת הבעה בכתב ובעל פה. מציאות זו מאפשרת תקשורתיות דלה, בה אנו נוכחים לעתים קרובות, אולם מעצם האינטנסיביות המילולית שלה היא גם מזמנת התמודדות עם איכותה של הכתיבה.
- הלומד הטוב הוא לומד שיתופי: לפי הפרדיגמה הקונסטרוקטיביסטית, תהליך פרשני הנו תהליך דיאלוגי והלומד השיתופי הטוב הנו מי שיודע ללמוד במשותף עם אחרים, להיות חלק מ"חברותא" ומשיח עמיתים מקצועי והוא יכול להיות חלק מפרויקטים מקוונים של יצירת ידע שיתופי.
- הלומד הטוב הוא גם יוצר ידע: בעולם התקשורתי מטשטש הגבול בין יוצרי הידע לצרכניו והלומד הטוב יכול להיות וכדאי שיהיה גם יוצר ידע. לצד הידע העממי, השטוח, שישנו לרוב באתרי אינטרנט, במרחבי שיח סינכרוניים, בבלוגים ובשאר הסביבות השיתופיות שזוכות לפופולאריות הולכת וגוברת נוצר גם ידע משמעותי ואיכותי. התבונה השיתופית מעלה מתוכה ידע רלוונטי, חי ומשמעותי והלומד נהיה ליוצר, להוגה ולחוקר שיש לו את הארוס לבטא את יצירי רוחו ואחריות על פרי מחשבתו.
טקסונומיה של הפעילות האינטרנטית משרטטת ציר של פעילות שבקצה האחד מצויה צרכנות פאסיבית של ידע (בהייה בטלוויזיה) ובצדו השני יצירת ידע מורכב והצגתו בתקשורת. "כריית ידע" מהאינטרנט על ידי שימוש במנועי חיפוש מצויה בצד הצרכני של הספקטרום, אם כי להפעלתה נדרשת כבר תבונה מיידענית. תקשורת מייל פשוטה מבטאת רמה גבוהה יותר של יוזמה כאשר בצד היותר אקטיבי אנו מוצאים עיבוד מידע לכלל ידע מחקרי ופרסום של תוצרי ידע במרחב האינטרנטי על ידי הלומדים עצמם (E-literacy). (Kaplan 1995). כלים טכנולוגיים משוכללים נותנים בידנו את אמצעים טכניים להפיכתם של הלומדים לאישים אקטיביים, יוצרים, המוסיפים לידע האנושי ושותפים בעיצוב עולמם. אין מדובר בהרכשה של מיומנויות טכנולוגיות אלא בשינוי בתרבות הבית ספרית.
"בית הספר" כסביבה לימודית פתוחה ותקשורתית
הסביבה הלימודית מהווה אתגר במציאות תרבותית חדשה, באשר היא מתנה במידה רבה את תפקודם הן של המורה והן של התלמיד. ביל גייטס במאמר חזון בשם "בית הספר המקושר/מחובר" (Gates, “The Connected School”, 2000) דיבר על האפשרות להבנות את ביה"ס כמערכת של קשרי למידה שמעורבים בה המורים והתלמידים אבל גם קהילת בית הספר הרחבה, הורים, מוקדי ידע ומוסדות קהילה. כל אלו מקיימים ביניהם תהליך מתמשך של תקשורת ולמידה הדדית, מעגלי עבודה שיתופיים (הן של תלמידים והן של מורים), קשרי דיווח תמיכה והתעדכנות.
בית הספר אינו פועל בחלל ריק וההקשר החיצוני שלו, הממסדי והכלכלי, מתנה במידה רבה את התהליכים הלימודיים המתרחשים בו (בחינות הבגרות, מגבלות התקציב, בירוקרטיה ממשלתית) ולעתים קרובות מגביל התחדשות פדגוגית ומעוף בית ספרי. יחד עם זאת, ביה"ס אינו יכול להרשות לעצמו להיות רק "קרבן" של הנסיבות והוא חייב למצב עצמו כגורם משמעותי בחייו של הלומדים והמלמדים, אחרת הוא ייעשה למוסד שולי, מטריד, שבאים בשעריו מתוך כפייה, שעמום ועוינות.
ניתן לסמן כמה תחומים בהם יכול ביה"ס להתאים את עצמו למציאות התרבותית תקשורתית של ימינו ולסייע בהתפתחותם של "המורה הטוב" ו-"הלומד הטוב" כפי שתוארו דלעייל:
- הבניית ביה"ס כקהילה מתוקשרת רבת מעגלי שיח והתייחסות: אנו רגילים לכך שכל אחד מאתנו נושא בכיסו טלפון סלולארי. לרובנו יש כבר חשבון אי-מייל פעיל. אנו מצפים מבני משפחתנו וחברינו להיות נגישים במידה שאין לה תקדים בשנים עברו. ביה"ס צריך להיות נגיש בכל מרכיביו לקהילה והקהילה צריכה להיות מחוברת אליו; מנהל, מחנכים, מורים מקצועיים, וועד הורים – כולם צריכים להיות חלק מרשת תקשורת. הכלים לעשות זאת רבים ומגוונים ונגישים לכל בי"ס. אין זה הכרחי שכולם יהיו זמינים בכל עת ובכל מצב – הזמן הפרטי ראוי גם הוא להגנה ולכבוד - אולם הכוריאוגרפיה של התקשורתיות הזו צריכה להיות גמישה ומעודדת הדברות.
- הבניית הכתה כמרחב למידה פתוח: דלת אמות של כתת הלימוד שוב אינם יכולים לספק תלמידים שחיים בבית שהוא "חדר מלחמה" תקשורתי מרובה ערוצים. בעבר דאג המורה החרוץ לפינות למידה בכתה: בצד אחד הייתה 'פינת הטבע' ובצד השני הייתה 'פינת המשפחה' או 'פינת חשבון'. על השולחן מונח היה ספר הלימוד ויחד עם המורה הם היו מקור הידע הבלבדי לתהליך הלימודי-הוראתי. לעומת זאת, הבאים לכתת הלימוד היום הם צרכני ידע אינטנסיביים – לא בהכרח מיומנים ולא בהכרח ביקורתיים – אבל כאלו שחיים מציאות רבת ערוצים שפעילים כל העת ובקצב מסחרר. הכתה המסורתית איטית מדי עבור הילד המתבגר שגדל בתוך ה"מערה חשמלית" שבביתו.
בימינו "העולם" הנו חלק מ"הכתה" ותהליכי הלמידה בכתה צריכים לשאוב ידע מגוון עשיר של מקורות כולל הספרייה הבית ספרית, ספריות אחרות, עיתונות מקוונת, מוקדי ידע בעולם, מומחים, עמיתים קרובים ורחוקים (פיסית, אבל לא תקשורתית), ובהתאמה (המורה הוא המווסת) לכישורי הלומדים.
- הבניית תהליכי הלמידה כתהליכים קונסטרוקטיביסטיים: תוכניות הלימוד של ביה"ס הקלאסי (זה שלפני שנים בודדות) נבנו על לומד שותק ומקשיב ומורה מדבר המעביר באופן אינרטי את חומר הלימוד (אובייקטים של ידע) מראשו המלא לראשו של הלומד (הרפז, 2000). תהליכי הלמידה צריכים לאתגר את "פריק התקשורת הביתית" ולעשותו ללומד פעיל, שואל, חוקר, מעבד ידע ומיישם ידע בהקשרים חדשים (יישומי הבנה).
- כוריאוגרפיה גמישה של ממד הזמן הבית ספרי: טשטוש מגבלות המרחב הפיזי מאפשר גם חריגה מדפוסי הזמן הבית ספריים או האוניברסיטאיים. שעיור לא חייב להתחיל במועד קבוע באופן מכני ובוודאי לא להמשך על פרק זמן מוגדר מראש באשר ללומדים קצבי למידה שונים. סמסטר אוניברסיטאי אינו חייב להתחיל במועד קבוע מראש עבור כל הקורסים באותו קמפוס, במיוחד כאשר משתתפים בקורס תלמידים במשרעת גלובלית שחיים לוח שנה שונה.
- הבניית הכתה כקבוצת שיח וחשיבה: התהליכים התרבותיים שתוארו דלעייל מחייבים מתן אפשרות לשיח קשוב, לחשיבה משותפת, למרחב של ביטוי אישי ובין אישי. היכולת של הלומדים לדבר ולהידבר יכולה להתפתח במרחב שמאפשר חברותא לומדת. אין תבנית אבסורדית יותר מכתת המחשבים המסודרת בשורות כמו הכתה של ההוראה הפרונטאלית הקלאסית או כתת המחשבים שבה המחשבים מסודרים בצמוד לקירות והלומדים יושבים כשגבם מופנה לחלל הכתה. מה טעם להביא (לעתים ממרחק רב) 40 ילדים לכתה ולהושיב אותם כך שלא ידברו זה עם זה?! אם הגדרנו את כישורי השיח כקריטיים ללומד בן זמננו הכתה חייבת לעודד שיח ולאפשר אותו.
בהשלמה נעמיד את הבניית הכתה כקהילה: באם הגדרנו את האינטליגנציה הבין אישית והאינטליגנציה התוך אישית (ברוח רעיונותיו של גרדנר) כיכולות חיוניות לאדם בן זמננו אזי הכתה צריכה להתפתח כקהילה אנושית שיש בהם שיח בין אישי והקשבה עצמית.
הבניה תרבותית של תהליכי בית הספר: תהליכי גלובליזציה אין משמעם אובדן ההקשר התרבותי של תהליכי הלמידה אלא דווקא מודעות רבה יותר לשוני התרבותי הקיים בין אנשים שונים וקבוצות שונות. אין אדם ללא הקשר תרבותי של קיומו. תהליכי הלימוד צריכים לתת מקום להבנת ההקשר הנראטיבי של החיים האנושיים ושל החברה שבתוכה ממוקם ביה"ס ואותה הוא משרת. נקודת תורפה של הוראה קונסטרוקטיביסטית שהוזכרה דלעיל, השמה דגש על התהליך הלימודי, הוא התוכן הנלמד בתהליך זה. למידה מודעת למשמעות ההקשר התרבותי של האדם חייבת לשים דגש גם על העברתם של תכני תרבות.
- טיפוח אוכלוסיית ביה"ס כאוריינית טכנולוגיה: הטכנולוגיה אינה תכלית לכשעצמה אולם הזמינות שלה והיכולת לעשות בה שימוש - "הרף הטכנולוגי" - יקבעו את יכולתם של הלומדים ומוריהם ליהנות מהעושר שמציע העולם המקושר.
- טיפוח ביה"ס כקהילה לומדת ששוקדת על מצוינות: פעילות מעין זו נובעת מהכרעה ערכית ודורשת טיפוח תרבות של מצוינות. תרבות מעין זו מותנית בפתיחת דלות וחלונות ויצירת תהליכי משוב, הדרכה, למידה הדדית, עדכון קהילת ביה"ס והשענות עליה. הכלים התקשורתיים יכולים לסייע מאד לתהליך מעין זה, שאינו מותנה בטכנולוגיה אבל יכול להיות מועצם על ידה.
- טיפוח יחס מושכל וביקורתי כלפי מרכיביו הטכנולוגיים של המציאות בת זמננו - הטכנולוגיה היא מרכיב בלתי נפרד מהמציאות של זמננו, אולם אסור לעשות את הטכנולוגיה ל"פטיש" ויש להקדיש מחשבה אינטנסיבית לגבי הכלים שהיא מציעה ללומד ולמורה, הפוטנציאל שלהם ומגבלותיהם. טכנולוגיה אינה התוכן העיקרי של תהליכי הלימוד. אין לנו "מורה לטלפונים" או "מורה לטלוויזיה" וגם "המורה למחשבים" ילך וייעלם מהנוף ואנו נעסוק במקום בהוראת הכלי הטכני עצמו בבחינת תהליכי ההוראה והיצירה התרבותית בעולם רווי תקשורת מחשבים.
העיון בטכנולוגיה ככלי פדגוגי יכול להעצים (כפי שאנו מכירים היטב) את הוראת מדעי הטבע, אבל הוא יכול גם לאתגר את מדעי הטקסט (היסטוריה, ספרות, לשון). אנו יכולים לבחון מה עושה מעבד התמלילים לעבודה עם טקסטים כאשר הטקסט הנדפס שב ונהיה לטקסט חי וגמיש ובעצם לתורה שבעל פה המוצגת על גבי מסך. היכולת לשתף בטקסטים זה את זה, ליצור יחד טקסטים, לעדכן ולשנות בתהליך של עבודה שיתופית הנו מהותי לחשיבה וביה"ס צריך לבחון תהליכים מעין אלו כאתגר אינטלקטואלי.
עלינו להבחין שבעולם המודרני רווי הטכנולוגיה והתקשורת הטקסט כבר מזמן אינו רק טקסט כתוב. תמונות היו תמיד טקסט תרבותי, עוד טרם המצאת הטקסט הכתוב, אולם הן זכו לנוכחות אחרת עם פיתוח טכנולוגיית הצילום ואחר כך עם היווצרותם של המדיום הטלוויזיוני ולבסוף המדיום האינטרנטי. לכן נאמר שתמונות הן טקסט, ויצירות אמנות פלסטיות הן טקסט, ויצירות מוסיקליות בכתיבתן ובביצוען הן טקסט ופרשנות של טקסט וכך שאר אמנויות הבמה, סרט קולנוע הוא טקסט ומצגת פאורפוינט היא טקסט ואתר אינטרנט הוא טקסט וכל אחד מהטקסטים הללו אפיונים משלו ודרכי פענוח משלו.
אולם עלינו להיות צרכנים ביקורתיים של המדיומים הללו ותהליכי הלמידה בהם הם משולבים. נעיין בדוגמה האמיתית הבאה שרובנו מכירים כדוגמתה (לאחר שהושלו ממנה פרטיה הקונקרטיים): מורה נתנה לתלמידתה בכתה ו' להכין עבודת חקר אל יבשת אנטרקטיקה. הילדה המיומנת פתחה בקליק אחד את תוכנת הגלשן ובקליק אחד את תוכנת המצגות, כתבה מילה אחת "אנטרקטיקה" בחלון החיפוש בגלשן וגררה בלחיצת "עכבר" תמונות נפלאות של קרחונים ופינגווינים אל "שקופיות" המצגת. אחר כך הוסיפה בהקלקות "עכבר" זריזות מעברים ואפקטים למצגת והעתיקה את המילה "אנטרקטיקה" לשקופית הראשונה. את המצגת שיכנה אחר כבוד בדיסק און-קיי ובכתה היא פתחה אותה בקלילות והקרחונים מילאו את המסך בהוד קדומים לבן. הציון היה מעולה. כשנשאלה התלמידה (על ידי אביה הטרחן) מה היא למדה על "אנטרקטיקה" - ז.א. התבקשה לתת מענה מילולי - היא התחילה לחשוב ברמת הבנה גבוהה יותר ...
כאן הסכנה של רידוד התהליך המחשבתי כאשר השימוש בטכנולוגיה נהיה לחזות הכל (או לאיום חמור) ואיננו כלי שרת ללמידה משמעותית. כדברי מבקר התרבות הטכנולוגית ניל פוסטמן, האמצעי נהייה לתכלית, לאליל:
What I am saying is that our enthusiasm for technology can turn into a form of idolatry and our belief in its beneficence can be a false absolute. The best way to view technology is as a strange intruder, to remember that technology is not part of God's plan but a product of human creativity and hubris, and that its capacity for good or evil rests entirely on human awareness of what it does for us and to us. (Postman, 1998)
מורה אחרת, בהיפוך מגמה, גזרה (במקרה אחר) על תלמידיה שאת עבודתם הם יגישו בכתב יד וזאת כדי לחסום את האפשרות הקלה באופן בלתי נסבל של "העתק הדבק" מתוך הויקיפדיה. קשה לראות בכך פתרון מוצלח (מחסום בפני העתקה) גם לשיטת המורה, אולם כאן אנו עדים לכך שהאינטרנט, במקום להיות משאב, נתפס כאיום אסטרטגי על דרכי ההוראה. כאן הפכה רשת האינטרנט מאליל נערץ לדמון שיש לגרשו, במקום לראות בה חלק נוכח ובלתי נפרד – מורכב, עם מגבלות, איומים וסיכויים - מהתרבות בה אנו חיים. אולם, הדמון האינטרנטי סירב לדמוניזציה שלו ומרחבי המידע האינטרנטיים נהיו ללגיטימיים יותר ויותר. הוויקיפדיה נהייתה למשאב בעל ערך, זמין לכל, ואילו דווקא האנציקלופדיה, היכל הידע הקלאסי של העת המודרנית, איבדה את עולמה.
סיכום
יש להכיר בכך שהטכנולוגיה היא כלי רב עוצמה, שלא תמיד אנו ערים למשמעויות העולות מהטמעתה, המחירים האישיים והחברתיים שהיא גובה, הכיוונים החדשים שהיא פותחת בפני התרבות האנושית, ומי נבנה מהשימוש בה (ומי נחלש). עלינו להיזהר מאידיאליזציה של הטכנולוגיה שהיא איידוליזציה של הטכנולוגיה (Postman, 1990). אולם עלינו להימנע גם מדמוניזציה שלה ולראותה כאתגר תרבותי עבור המורה.
ההתמודדות עם הטכנולוגיה היא בעיקרה התמודדות תרבותית על דרכי עיצוב בית הספר, תהליכי ההוראה-למידה בתוכו כמו גם על דמותם של המורה והלומד. הטכנולוגיה היא כלי – האדם הוא שמפעיל אותו. הקושי בהתמודדות עם הטכנולוגיה אינו נובע מכשל פנימי של כלים אלו אל מקשיי הסתגלות של המורים מצד אחד למציאות חברתית חדשה והעדר יחס ביקורתי אל התרבות הטכנולוגית מצד שני.
בעולם טכנולוגי-תקשורתי , המאופיין על ידי תרבות גלובלית, נדרש עיצוב חדש של הסביבה הבית ספרית. ביה"ס צריך להוות עבור מוריו ותלמידיו נמל הבית למסע ארוך של גילוי, חקר ולמידה, שמספק לתלמידים אתר אינטלקטואלי, כלים לניווט בעולם דינאמי, מפת דרכים לתמונת ידע כאוטית ותזזיתית וטיפוח של אוריינות רב-תחומית. רק במציאות מעין זו יכול לפרוח תלמיד אחר, "התלמיד הטוב" המתאים למציאות החדשה ועמו בן בריתו "המורה הטוב", המלווה אותו ביציאתו להרפתקה הגדולה של החיים בעולם סופר-מודרני.
